The Jokhung Buddhist temple in the center of Lhasa was completely jostling and busy, the square filled with devotees prostrating themselves or completing kora circuits around the temple, or buying prayer flags and yak butter. One spot of quiet peace was a small building near the temple entrance with a man quietly maintaining the yak butter candles for prayer.
